High School Symposium

As a reminder, this year High School Symposium will be on October 18^th, and we will need help with volunteers. If you are available, please select a spot on the signup link HERE. It is fun to be on campus for this annual event! We appreciate all you do!

Spirit Wear

Do you have team spirit?  Yes, you do!!  Glendale Prep SPIRIT WEAR is here!! Online orders can be placed starting this week from the GP PSO Spirit Store. Visit https://www.gpapo.org/shop/  to browse and place your order in advance.* There is no shipping cost and the items will be delivered directly to the school for pickup in the school office when your order is available. Supplies are limited, so don’t miss out.

There are a variety of sizes, color, and design options, for youth and adults! T-shirts starting at $15; sweatshirts starting at $20

*There will be an additional purchase opportunity in the courtyard during Homecoming/ Spirit week. Watch for details to come; more sizes are available for early orders!

Uniform Exchange

Are those uniforms getting a little tight or skirts a little short?  Come out this Saturday to change them out for an updated size at a substantially lower cost!

Glendale Prep PSO will be hosting the annual Fall Used Uniform Sale/Exchange on Saturday, September 23rd from 8:30 am to 11 am at the Archway MPR. Come when you can. Archway is trying to do something different this year, so this Uniform Exchange will be for Glendale Prep items ONLY.  As always, we could use some volunteers. Any little bit will be big help; please sign up HERE.

Restaurant Day

Restaurant day is a great way to help raise money for our Senior trip! A percentage of the proceeds during the designated timeframe will be given to help the Seniors pay for this year’s trip to Washington, D.C.  Lola Coffee on 83^rd Ave and Deer Valley will be our first restaurant event of the year on September 27^th, 12pm – 4pm.  Please stop in for a quick treat and let them know you are with Glendale Prep, so they know you are supporting the event!

Teacher Appreciation Lunch

Thank you everyone who helped with Today’s TA lunch!  We couldn’t do it without you! Our next TA lunch is October 25^th!  Thank you to all those who have already signed up but there are still a few spots left. If you would like to donate or volunteer, please sign up HERE. The teachers appreciate it so much!

Call to Action

Debbie Ayer has been our amazing PSO president for over 10 years. Her daughter is a Senior this year, so we are looking for our next PSO President who is willing to volunteer his or her time to run our PSO going forward. Debbie would love to have this individual work with her this year as Co-President to make the transition easy for whomever steps into this role. We hope interested individuals will come to the next meeting or reach out to Debbie directly at PSOpresident@glendaleprep.org.

Night of the Griffins

Mark your calendars! Night of the Griffins will be February 3^rd, 2024!!  This is a great family and community event held on the Glendale Prep Campus. There is Food, Fun, Friends, and Family!  As you can imagine, this takes a team to make it successful, so we are reaching out early to ask for volunteers. Jenny Haley did a great job organizing the event last year and is still here to help, but we would love it if one of our other parents would be willing to take over the lead position as the head chairperson for this year’s event. Here is a list of volunteers we are looking for to support NOTG 2024:

• Chairperson – Oversee the Event.
• Committee Chair – Lead Donations (collection ahead of time and organizing at the event)
• Committee Chair – Food Trucks – Becky Brown (committed)
• Committee Chair – Run the Pickle Ball Tournament
• Committee Chair – Karaoke/Entertainment
• Committee Chair – Rentals (field activities)
• Committee Chair – Logistics (set up team, tear down team, cleaning team)
• Donation of Trophies for Events

We will work on details in meetings held specifically for NOTG, but we will be reviewing tasks in the October PSO meeting and establishing committees, so please attend if you are at all interested in helping with NOTG 2024!

PSO Board Meetings

Our first meeting was great! It was amazing to see some new faces! Our next meeting will be October 5^th at 5:30 pm in the GP Library.  Please see below for the full year’s meeting schedule.

PSO is a fun way to get involved with your student’s academic career.  We have a variety of volunteer opportunities throughout the year, and we welcome everyone to come and participate in the Board Meetings.  This is an opportunity to share your ideas and be informed about the upcoming events.

Lunches

Our system is now open for weekly ordering, but you can (and this seems easier) order for the whole month in one go. Our weekly ordering closes at 10:00 pm each Thursday evening. Please make sure to email gplunches@gmail.com with questions regarding the lunch program.

Tuesday – Culver’s
Wednesday – Half Day: No Lunch Provided
Thursday – Chick Fil A
Friday – Sardella’s
