Hello everyone, this week’s blast is full of great updates and tons of information!

Call to Action

Debbie Ayer has been our amazing PSO president for over 10 years. Her daughter is a Senior this year, so we are looking for our next PSO President who is willing to volunteer his or her time to run our PSO going forward. Debbie would love to have this individual work with her this year as Co-President to make the transition easy for whomever steps into this role. We hope interested individuals will come to the next meeting or reach out to Debbie directly at PSOpresident@glendaleprep.org.

Night of the Griffins

Mark your calendars! Night of the Griffins will be February 3^rd, 2024!!  This is a great family and community event held on the Glendale Prep Campus. There is Food, Fun, Friends, and Family!  As you can imagine, this takes a team to make it successful, so we are reaching out early to ask for volunteers. Jenny Haley did a great job organizing the event last year and is still here to help, but we would love it if one of our other parents would be willing to take over the lead position as the head chairperson for this year’s event. Here is a list of volunteers we are looking for to support NOTG 2024:

• Chairperson – Oversee the Event.
• Committee Chair – Lead Donations (collection ahead of time and organizing at the event)
• Committee Chair – Food Trucks – Becky Brown (committed)
• Committee Chair – Run the Pickle Ball Tournament
• Committee Chair – Karaoke/Entertainment
• Committee Chair – Rentals (field activities)
• Committee Chair – Logistics (set up team, tear down team, cleaning team)
• Donation of Trophies for Events

We will work on details in meetings held specifically for NOTG, but we will be reviewing tasks in the October PSO meeting and establishing committees, so please attend if you are at all interested in helping with NOTG 2024!

Restaurant Day

Restaurant day is a great way to help raise money for our Senior trip! A percentage of the proceeds during the designated timeframe will be given to help the Seniors pay for this year’s trip to Washington, D.C.  Lola Coffee on 83^rd Ave and Deer Valley will be our first restaurant event of the year on September 27^th, 12pm – 4pm.  Please stop in for a quick treat and let them know you are with Glendale Prep, so they know you are supporting the event!

High School Symposium

This year High School Symposium will be on October 18^th, and we will need help with volunteers.  We are working on the details but wanted to put it on your calendar to save the date for those who are available to help. Keep an eye out for additional details in weeks to come!

PSO Board Meetings

Our first meeting was great! It was amazing to see some new faces! Our next meeting will be October 5^th at 5:30 pm in the GP Library.  Please see below for the full year’s meeting schedule.

Uniform Exchange

Glendale Prep PSO will be hosting the annual Fall Used Uniform Sale/Exchange on Saturday, September 23rd from 8:30 am to 11 am at the Archway MPR. Come when you can. Archway is trying to do something different this year, so this Uniform Exchange will be for Glendale Prep items ONLY.  As always, we could use some volunteers. Any little bit will be big help; please sign up HERE.

Teacher Appreciation Lunch

Our next TA lunch is September 20^th!  Thank you to all those who have already signed up but there are still a few spots left. If you would like to donate or volunteer, please sign up HERE. We can’t do it without you and the teachers appreciate it so much!

Items still needed:

• Mixed/Chopped Vegetable Salads (2)
• Pasta Sauce with Meat (1)
• Kitchen Helper 10:30am – 2:30 pm (1)

Lunches

Our system is now open for weekly ordering, but you can (and this seems easier) order for the whole month in one go. Our weekly ordering closes at 10:00 pm each Thursday evening. Please make sure to email gplunches@gmail.com with questions regarding the lunch program.

Our daily vendors are the following:

Monday – Raising Canes
Tuesday – Culver’s
Wednesday – Half Day: No Lunch Provided
Thursday – Chick Fil A
Friday – Sardella’s
