A Note From Headmaster

Hello Parents,

If there was any time in my life that I was working but at home with my family, it was likely during the 4th quarter of last school year, as well as this past summer. The demands of the job were great and while I was present in the body, I was certainly absent in the soul. There was so much change and need for planning. I can imagine this was, and is, not only true for me, but for so many of you as well. Our lives and jobs are radically different, demanding more of us in unique ways that can make it difficult to keep a balance between work and home. I am finding it very difficult to “turn it off” when I am home with my family, but I am seeing the need to do it. We can only be at our best in our work and calling when our priorities align with what we value most; we must make sure we are present when with our family. So, last Tuesday after work, I decided to put the phone away and just “be” with the family. I threw the football around with my boys, took Hannah and Wyatt on a ride out in the desert on a make-shift four-wheeler, and sat with my parents and my children to watch the sunset. I was able to refrain from checking email for a few hours. It was nice and liberating. Our lives demand so much, especially when we are in service to others; may we remember to break away from the busyness to just “be” together with those we love.

Sincerely,

Mr. Navarrette

Front Office Visitors
To limit the exposure of Covid-19 to the campus we ask that students are prepared for school each day. Please ensure your child has books, homework, lunch, mask, water bottle, and transportation plans before they arrive at school each morning. Lunches should only be dropped off on the rare occasion that lunch is accidentally left in the car or at home. We ask that when possible, appointments are scheduled for early release days, before school, or after school. Additionally, all PSO purchased items will be placed directly in your child’s locker if the student is an in-person learner. If the item is not there, please reach out to the PSO (since we do not have access to those purchases). As an aside, we recommend students place a backup mask in their backpack or locker. Thank you for helping to keep our campus healthy and running. Please email any Glendale Prep questions to attendance@glendaleprep.org.
