We had New Student Orientation this last Wednesday, and it was so wonderful to see the students and teachers interacting and spending quality time together. Before introducing our teachers one by one, I shared with the students that we set high expectations at Glendale Prep, not merely academic, but in character. Here are the three specific expectations I shared with our new students: We should be responsible, trustworthy, and patient. During our remote start, I have seen this is each member of our community. Thank you particularly for your patience as I send blast after blast with so much information with the many changes. I have greatly appreciated your trust and understanding. See the block schedule below; August 31st is Block A. I will see you at pickup on Monday!

Front Office Visitors
To limit the exposure of Covid -19 to the campus we ask that students are prepared for school each day. Please ensure your child has books, homework, lunch, and transportation plans before they arrive at school each morning. Lunches should only be dropped off on a rare occasion that lunch is accidentally left in the car or at home. We also ask that when possible, appointments are arranged for after school hours, early release days, or before school hours. Thank you for helping to keep our campus healthy and running. Homework Club is BACK!
As our school prepares to open its doors once again, Homework Club will be made available immediately, starting on our first day of classes.
For those who don’t know, Homework Club is our primary non-athletic after school program. We offer a quiet, safe environment on campus for students to work on the day’s assignments from 3:15 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. each and every school day. Teachers from our own faculty provide supervision and basic tutoring assistance, if possible. Any students from grades 6-12 are welcome and can be picked up directly from the club at any time before 5:30 p.m.
If you are interested in signing up, please find our listing on the GP Payment Portal. Please carefully read the information there, even if you have used Homework Club in the past. As with anything these days, we have implemented new safety protocols to ensure that our students stay healthy and comfortable during their time in Homework Club. We ask that you carefully review these new protocols and let us know if you have any questions or concerns. Register here now.
As always, our first and foremost duty to our students is to ensure their safety and well-being. If there are ANY health or safety concerns you have for your child, please do not hesitate to reach out.

GP Remote Learning Resources
Our Glendale Prep website is filled with useful information for our families. On the Glendale Prep home page, located on the right-hand side, families can find a “Remote Learning” tab. This tab has useful information that can help navigate you through any difficulties you might encounter during Remote Distance Learning. You will also be able to retrieve past emails sent to families on the “Academy Life” tab, under “Weekly Blasts & Event Calendar.”
College Counseling
- SAVE THE DATE: College Counseling will be hosting Student/Parent Nights for the junior, sophomore, and freshmen classes. For in-person attendance, these sessions will be held in the Archway Glendale Multi-Purpose Room. An option to attend via Zoom will also be provided.
- Juniors Class of 2022: Thursday, September 3rd, at 6:30 p.m.
- Sophomores Class of 2023: Thursday, September 10th, at 6:30 p.m.
- Freshmen Class of 2024: Thursday, September 17th at 6:30 p.m.
- ARIZONA IN-STATE UNIVERSITIES: Tri-State Week Virtual Event is scheduled for September 8-12 providing more information about our three in-state universities (ASU, NAU, and U of Arizona). Sessions are offered several times on varying days and times. Recommended sessions include: Admissions 101, Paying for College: Understanding Financial Aid and Scholarships, and Getting Ahead Tips for 9-11 Grades. Tax Credit
We cannot wait to open our new gym doors and watch our athletes compete! Soon enough our scholars will be participating in sports, field trips, extracurricular clubs, and character-building activities outside of the classroom. Remember, funding for these activities is provided through our annual Tax Credit drive and we need your support!

*All registration must be completed prior to participating. All payments are due before the 1st match or game in that sport.
Before/After School Drop Off and Pick Up Policy
Before school, all remote and on-campus students MUST be dropped off from the Pinnacle Peak entrance. If the student is driving him/her self they should park in the student lot in order to exit off of Pinnacle Peak when their practice concludes if they need to run home to shower. All morning workouts/practices will conclude by 7:00 am.
After school, all off-campus coaches/students are asked to pull in on Pinnacle Peak. You may park, drop off, and pick up for early games off of that entrance. Students who are already on campus will have time to change, prepare, and wait for practice to begin at its designated time.
The student check-in zone for on-campus practices is through the athletic gates and into the gym courtyard. Students who fail to pass the temperature check will be sent home.
Middle School Football Clinic
Coach Kummeth and our GP MS Football staff are hosting a free football clinic starting September 2nd! This will be an opportunity to prepare your conditioning and skills before the season starts. All MS Boys interested in playing football are welcome to come (6th– 8th Grade).

Griffin Gym
Griffin Gym times have changed to 6:00 a.m. for both the parents and students. The parent class will run on Tuesday mornings while the student class will run on Thursdays. This class will be offered on these specific days until further notice. Visit the payment portal for more information.
HS Girls Soccer Interest Zoom Meeting
If you are interested in participating in the HS Girls Soccer interest Zoom, please email athletics@glendaleprep.org. We will introduce our new coaching staff to our student-athletes and parents! Information on the winter season will be provided as well.
