A Note from Headmaster
Hello Parents, We are one week away from the first day of school, and I am very excited to be back onsite together. Much of what we will be doing: schedules, athletics, extra-curriculars, traffic, lunch, lyceum, etc. is returning to pre-Covid form. However, we will still have a Covid response coordinator and have a mitigation plan that is posted on our website. This is available to view HERE. Please take time to read the updated plan as there are significant changes from what we implemented last year. I will share two details:
If you have questions or concerns, please reach out to me directly. It is important that you feel we are providing a safe environment for your child. If, for whatever reason, you believe it might be best to consider GreatHearts AZ online (K-8th grade), please let me know, and I can share how best to transfer to the online school. Sincerely, Traffic, Drop Off, and Pick Up Procedures PARENTS: Please carefully read the email that will go out today regarding traffic procedures. Note that traffic procedures have changed. Please anticipate longer wait times for drop off and pick up with all online students returning to campus. Thank You GP Parents and Mentors Thank you to all the volunteers and Mentors who made the GP Bookstore a success! And thank you to all the families that came in prepared and had their items pre-paid. An enormous amount of work goes into making it a smooth process for all 600+ students to pick up their books and schedules before school starts. Uniforms Be sure you take this last weekend before the start of school to carefully review the dress code and uniform guidelines as outlined in the family handbook, located on GP’s website which can be found here. We would like to draw your attention to a few areas in particular:
For further guidance regarding any of these points or other questions about the uniform policy, please see the family handbook. Athletics As the summer begins to wind down, the sports are about to ramp up! GP Athletics is excited to offer fall sports for the upcoming 2021-2022 school year. Our theme this year is “Built For It.” What does that mean, you may ask? Being “Built For It” means being fit for any and every battle, game, and competition that will come our way. Whether in life or in sports, GP athletes are built to handle challenges and succeed. Our coaching staff is excited about this theme and is ready to offer their expertise and experience to enhance your child’s life. This fall, we will begin with the “meet the coach” night held on August 3rd in the courtyard of Glendale Prep. Our sports selection(s) are open to all boys/ girls in between 5th – 12th grade, and no experience is needed to participate. We hope that you decide to participate this season and look forward to seeing you on August 3rd! Details are below: Event details:

So far, nearly 200 students have signed up and paid. If you have not done so already, please sign up your high school student(s) via our payment portal for 21-22 HS Retreat so we have total numbers to finalize our plans. We will spend time at the Retreat bonding over team-building activities, leadership exercises, games during free-time, glow in the dark capture the flag, skits, karaoke, and so much more while enjoying tasty meals prepared by GP parents and alumni! There will be no on-campus classes for High School students the days we are at the Retreat. Homework Club Registration for Homework Club will open August 1. There is a one-time $25 registration fee. Cost is $90 per month for one child; and $60 per month for each additional child. Please follow THIS LINK to pay and view details.
