A Note From the Headmaster

Greetings,

What a busy and joy-filled week! The students have finished out the year, completing finals, and we have had so many wonderful events- Senior Banquet, Griffin Goodbye, Awards Ceremony, 8th grade Promotion, and we will have our High School Commencement tomorrow at 2:00 p.m.

This year brought many changes and transitions; so many of our faculty and staff responded as expected- they took on more responsibility and did so graciously.

With every year, we do say goodbye to a handful of faculty and staff. Each has served our school faithfully, and we wish them the best. Thank you and farewell,

Mr. Dickerson
Mrs. Liles
Mr. Hendricks
Mr. Mahar
Dr. Rivera
Mr. West
Mr. Weisse

Parents, thank you for your commitment to our ideals and for seeking good for your children. I wish you all a restful summer and look forward to sharing another school year together, beginning August 7th.

With Gratitude,
Mr. Navarrette
Headmaster

Senior Traditions
Senior Textbook Deposits: Class of 2019 returned full of memories and knowledge from their Senior Trip, enjoyed ballroom dancing and each other’s company at the Glendale Preparatory 2019 Promenade, have completed their Senior Thesis Defense, reflected on all that was learned at the Senior Retreat, and now they look forward to Senior Dinner and Graduation. Congratulations to your scholar on all the incredible accomplishments at Glendale Preparatory Academy. At the start of your journey with Glendale Prep, you submitted a textbook deposit for your student. Please fill out the textbook deposit refund formhere if you haven’t already.

Senior Graduation Rehearsal will take place on Friday, May 24th at Glendale Nazarene Church, at 2:00 p.m. Rehearsal should take approximately one hour, and all seniors and faculty members are required to attend.

Senior Graduation will be on Saturday, May 25th at 2:00 p.m. at Glendale Nazarene Church, located at 5902 W Cactus Rd, Glendale, AZ 85304. We ask seniors to arrive dressed in their cap, gown, stole and tassel and be ready for pictures by 1:15 p.m. There will be a reception with light refreshments after the ceremony.

8th Grade Promotion
Families of 8th grade students are invited to the 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony on Friday, May 24th at 7:00 p.m. in the Glendale Prep Gymnasium. 8th graders should arrive by 6:30 p.m. As a reminder, the student dress code for the evening is as follows:

Gentlemen should wear slacks, a button-up shirt, a tie, and dress shoes.

Ladies’ dresses should have necklines within four finger widths below the collarbone. The length of the dress should also not be shorter than four fingers (approx. 2 inches) above the knee. No see-through dresses or dresses with open backs. Shoulders should be covered, so please wear a sweater over strapless dresses or dresses with spaghetti straps. Ladies should also wear dress shoes in which it is easy to walk up the stairs and across the stage.

A donation can be made on the payment portal, or by cash/check to the front office. Fingerprint clearances issued by Glendale Prep are valid for Archway Glendale, as well.

Community Investment

As our Seniors fill the GP halls singing Minstrel Boy, and as our Spring Concert and final science experiments all wind down, we want to heartily thank everyone who selflessly gave to support our teachers and students through Community Investment! The significance of your gifts cannot be overstated. We simply could not accomplish all that we do without Community Investment, Tax Credit and those GP families who give. Thank you!

If you have yet to support our school through Community Investment, the last day to give is June 30, 2019. Please support our school here.

Thank you again and have an amazing summer!
