| A Note From Headmaster
Hello Parents,
Our Night of the Griffin was a huge success and so much fun. Here is a thank you from Mrs. Kennedy-
“Thanking all the amazing parents that helped that day from coming to my house in the morning to staying late at night to help clean up. Such an amazing GP community. But especially Dharti Bhakta, Cathy Cleland, and Kim Greathouse who spent many late nights at my house getting everything ready. I could not have done it without them. My awesome husband Kyle Kennedy. And of course, the amazing Glendale Prep PSO led by Debbie Ayer. 🙂 I would also like to thank our sponsors: Shipley Orthodontics, Anchored Kings, Carescape, MCO inc., Bell Bank, Champs Family Automotive, all the parents and companies that donated to our online auction, and a huge thank you to DJ Moe for working behind the scenes to give us awesome music and helped our lip-sync run so well. Thank you also to Ginee Venezia who spent all day getting animals to and fro for our petting zoo. Thank you so much to our lip-sync and cornhole participants and finally everyone who attended and made the event a huge success :).”
Best,
Mr. Navarrette

A NOTE FROM THE PRESIDENT: After months of planning and hard work, our 3rd Annual Night of the Griffins is over. What a fabulous event it was! We enjoyed seeing so many families and students enjoying themselves and having fun. I would like to personally thank Nickie Kennedy for her wonderful planning and execution of this event. It really takes months to pull off an event as large as this. She was helped by a small army of very hard workers, including Board Members, family friends, business partners, GP families to name a few. Thank you to all who helped make this a night to remember. I would also like to thank all those who generously donated raffle and auction items that helped make the event such a wonderful fundraiser. Thank you to our faculty members who helped and donated raffle items, and of course, a huge Thank You to all those brave students and faculty members who worked long and hard preparing for our Lip Sync Competition. What a night!! They should all be so proud of their performances! As a judge, I can honestly say they were the best yet!! Their hours of practice paid off. Thank You GP Community for once again ensuring we had a fabulous NOTG in 2020.

WATER FOR LUNCH PROGRAM: Recently, our Sam’s Club bottled water order was canceled. This has only happened a couple of times before in 3-4 years. We are assuming that their stock is low, and/or they are putting limits on how many cases customers can buy. We, as a school, want to help the situation occurring in our community. Therefore, the PSO will continue and try and provide water for the paid lunches, but there may be occasions when we just cannot because of supply, and so we ask that students bring their own water bottles to lunch moving forward. Thank you for partnering with us.
FIELD DAY: Field Day is Friday, March 27th. We are looking for volunteers to set up and run the snack/water tent for the event. We are also looking for donations of granola bars, breakfast bars, crackers, fruit, etc., for our students to enjoy during their breaks. Please sign up at https://signup.com/go/eLhHitr.
PSO COMMUNICATION: If you have questions or comments, please email president@glendalepreppo.org. This is a way to voice opinions, concerns, get questions answered, and help with developing future agenda items for PSO meetings.
Glendale Prep’s Website
Are you having problems viewing Great Hearts PDFs, like GP’s 2020-2021 Academic Calendar? After updates, some browsers might change their setting and make PDFs “download” instead of “viewable” on a web browser. If you are having this issue, please view the instructions on how to adjust this setting at https://www.greatheartsamerica.org/pdfs-instructions/.
Raptor System Implementation
In order to ensure the safety of our campuses, we will be implementing the Raptor Visitor Management System, which helps us to always know who is on our campus. A communication was sent on February 27th about this change; however, if you did not see it, please view the original communication here. This new system will go live when we return from Spring Break on Monday, March 16th and will allow us to track visitors, vendors, and volunteers in a better way. Starting on Monday, March 16th, we ask that all visitors have their valid state-issued ID ready to be scanned to be let on campus. The security of our community is of the utmost importance, and we appreciate your cooperation, understanding, and patience as we roll out the Raptor Visitor Management System. If you have questions about Raptor or its implementation, please reach out to Mr. Navarrette.
Science Fair
Please note: Official Registration for Science Fair is now CLOSED. There will be NO registration of projects at the door, on the day of the event. If your 6th-12th grade student missed the official registration deadline but still has a stellar idea for a science project, you MUST email Dr. Ustach to get approval to enter the Science Fair.
