|A Note From Headmaster
Today was an early release day for the students, and a faculty seminar day for teachers and staff. We shared a meal provided by the PSO and spent ninety minutes discussing My Name is Asher Lev. On Wednesday, when I was half-way through the assigned reading, I was discussing the story with Ms. Wegener. What became clear was her use of describing the work as “real”. My Name is Asher Lev tells the coming-of-age story of a young Jewish boy, who sees the world as it is but also as he imagines it to be. We see so much suffering in this story; I described it as “heavy”, but I do believe it is “real”. Our time in faculty seminar is life-giving; it is living out our calling as life-long learners. It is part of our culture and what makes our school truly wonderful. Again, thank you for partnering with us to provide a worthwhile experience for our students but also for our teachers.
Call or email the attendance line, and students will be marked COVID Quarantine Excused Absence as long as details are left in the message so the office can excuse the absence. Email email@example.com or call 623-889-0822 ext. 4.
