A Note From Headmaster

Hello Parents,

This coming Monday is a unique day for our students and teachers. Students will remain at home to study for final exams, while our teachers will come to campus for a workday dedicated to grading and writing student evaluations. We, of course, try to ensure the day includes showing our gratitude and love for our teachers, given their service in Quarter 2. So, we will make them breakfast, provide lunch, and will have opportunity for games to break away and have time to be together. Our hope is that the day will be dedicated to work, preparation, and a bit of rest from the normal schedule for both students and teachers, so we can begin Finals Week with a renewed focus and determination to end the Semester well.

Have a great weekend,

Mr. Navarrette

Radio Drama Performances

Tonight at 7:00 p.m., tune into the radio drama production of “The Four Just Men” by Edgar Wallace, presented to you by Glendale Prep’s 12th Grade Drama Class. Lean in and listen to the magic created by these students; you can even watch them doing their craft. Enjoy the show! Suggestion: Listen on a good quality speaker to make sure you hear all the cool sounds! Click the link at 7:00 p.m. to enjoy: https://youtu.be/8iGw4VNuC7M.

Keep an eye out for the 11th Grade Drama performance next week!

Exam Schedules
Final exams are a culmination of all that students have learned first semester. If you have any appointments scheduled, please make them for after early release or for another day. Emails were sent out yesterday regarding important exam schedule information, please review it with your child(ren). The information is also linked below. Contact our Dean of Academics, Ms. Wegener with any questions.

Here are some tips to help your child(ren) find success and health in the next few weeks:
1. Maintain a consistent and healthy bedtime.
2. Make room for lots of veggies and fruit in their diet.
3. Stay hydrated.
4. Encourage and help to provide a positive environment for studying free of distraction, including their phone.
5. Find joy in the simple, peaceful pleasures this time of year brings. Take study breaks to enjoy the cool, crisp weather on a family walk together, bake some cookies, or make plans for visiting the snow over winter break.
6. Attend tutoring.
7. Stick with your morning routine and be sure to get your student to school by 8:00 a.m.

PSO Snowstorm
GP’s Parent Service Organization (PSO) holds this annual event as a way to collectively show our parents’ deep appreciation for the faculty at Glendale Prep. PSO collects all donations and divides them evenly. Checks are presented to the faculty as an amazing gift before the holiday break. We encourage families to donate in lieu of individual gifts for teachers and staff. Donations can be made online at http://www.gpapo.org/shop/. The last day to contribute is December 15th.

Community Investment
Notice to Families: In an effort to honor the generous support of our families and create communication efficiencies, effective January 1, 2021, Great Hearts Academies will receipt all charitable gifts made by credit card with automatic emailed receipts issued at the time of the transaction. Please retain the email you receive for your tax purposes. Please keep all digital receipts, as annual total giving summaries will no longer be provided commencing with the 2021 calendar year. For the 2020 calendar year, this is a reminder that annual total giving summaries are created based on each academy and will be sent separately. Contact Cathy Sparks at 623.889.0822 with questions. Thank you.
