A Note from the Headmaster
Hello Families, I wanted to use this blast to provide you with some insight on our partnership and to express my gratitude for it. Every other Tuesday, we invite prospective parents to tour our campus, learn about our philosophy of education, and they certainly cross paths with your children. They are impressed with the beauty of our campus and the uniqueness of our educational program; however, they are most appreciative of seeing the comportment, respect, joy, and love of our students. Thank you for all you do at home to make our community so welcoming and attractive to like-minded parents, who share the same goals and emphasis on moral character. Enjoy the weekend, Finals Schedule The schedule for finals week (December 11-15) is outlined below. Please review this information carefully with your child(ren). Because final exams are a culmination of all that students have learned first semester, if you have any appointments to be scheduled, please make them for after early release or for another day. Finals missed due to unavoidable conflicts will be made up outside of the school day or after the winter break and may result in an Incomplete grade on student report cards. Contact our Dean of Academics (AKratz@glendaleprep.org) if this applies to you or if you have any questions. Monday, December 11 Tuesday, December 12 Wednesday, December 13 Thursday, December 14 Friday, December 15 On each testing day, the bell schedule will be as follows: 8:05-8:25 Study Hall Lastly, here are some tips to help your children find success and wellbeing in the next few weeks: 1. Maintain physical health through a consistent and sufficient bedtime, a diet including lots of fruits and vegetables, and plentiful hydration. Dress Code Reminder Please check skirt and pant lengths; some of our students have grown and the skirt and pants are then too short. A skirt should not be shorter than two inches above the knee and pants should reach the bottom of the ankle. An infraction will be issued for skirts and pants that are too short. Please either re-hem the items or purchase new ones. Detentions are issued after three infractions. Thank you for your help with dress code compliance! Tax Credit Did you know you can receive a dollar-for-dollar tax credit on your Arizona taxes? The Arizona Public School Tax Credit allows Arizona taxpayers to contribute to the public school of their choice and receive a dollar-for-dollar credit on their state taxes! Your tax credit contribution supports our extra-curricular and athletic programs, field trips, and character-building programs. Married couples can contribute up to $400 and single filers may contribute up to $200 each year. All Arizona taxpayers can take advantage of the Arizona Public School Tax credit and support our school whether they have a student at GP or not. We ask every family to contribute their Tax Credit and invite your friends and family to help support GP as well! Use this link to Donate to Glendale Preparatory Tax Credit Drive. Advanced Placement (AP) Exams will take place at Scottsdale Prep in the spring and are open to all high school students who wish to self-study and sit for an exam. Students/parents go to Scottsdale Prep’s Configio to select and pay for exam. 2. Student logs-in to their College Board account and input the ‘active join code’ found on the Configio site when they paid for the exam. The cost is $138.00 per exam by March 1st, 2024.
