A Note From the Headmaster
Growing up, we had a tradition that on Thanksgiving Day every person goes around and shares what he or she is thankful for. Well, I find myself wanting to share my thankfulness for so many people. I am thankful for our front office ladies, Mrs. Mooberry, Mrs. Edmiston, and Mrs. McHale, who are always smiling, greeting, and caring for the needs of our students and teachers. I am thankful for Mrs. Hayakawa who is so efficient with communication and record-keeping but also looks out for what is best for our community and the values we hold. I am thankful for Mrs. Sparks who has the difficult job of finding ways to help us bridge the gap so that we can continue to provide a wonderful education and extra-curriculars for our students. I am thankful for Mrs. Ayer and all the members of our PSO for finding ways to promote a sense of community at our school. I am thankful for Mrs. Hastings and Mrs. Bulthaup who provide extra support for our exceptional students. I am thankful for Ms. McLoughlin for making sure our campus is clean, schedules flow, while also organizing events such as field day, so they run smoothly and are most enjoyable for our students. I am thankful for Mr. Withers and Mr. Weisse who always make time to discuss the needs of our community and share ideas about how best to support our teachers and students. I am thankful to Mr. Mahar and Ms. Hudson for their commitment to ensuring our school culture is one where students feel known and loved. I am thankful for Mr. Drake who coordinates our athletic events as a whole, while also bringing vision for how to promote and support each sport individually. I am thankful for our counselor, Molly Caldwell, who helps support our students with unique needs. I am thankful for our college counselors, Mrs. Sarbacker and Mrs. Thorpe, for helping students plan for their journey after high school. I am thankful for our nurses, Mrs. Dela Cruz, and Mrs. Madeya, who are there “just in case” our students are not feeling well. I am thankful for our facilities technician, Dan Mangus, for speedily making repairs and solving problems. I am thankful for our day porter, Sandra, who helps clean our facilities throughout the day. I am thankful for our teachers, who pour their lives into our students each and every day not merely to teach a subject but to inspire greatness; for our coaches who dedicate their time to help students grow through competition; for our teachers running extracurricular activities as they provide further enrichment; to our parent volunteers who blessed us with their service by giving of their time. I am thankful for you, our parents, who trust us and support us in our work of teaching not merely facts and skills, but virtues and habits. I am thankful for our students, who bring energy, joy, and care to our campus each day with their greetings and showing forth their own gratitude. May we have a heart of gratitude not merely on Thanksgiving Day, but every day we share together. Have a blessed Thanksgiving, Community Investment It is through your gifts to Community Investment that we are able to offer Music to our students.
