A NOTE FROM THE HEADMASTER
Dear Glendale Prep Families,
Cicero was credited to have said, “Gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues, but the parent of all the others.” To say I am grateful for the community here at Glendale Prep would be an understatement. I am grateful that my own children have been able to call Archway Glendale and Glendale Prep home for the past fourteen years. I am grateful for the teachers who have come to know and love them over the years, often when loving them meant holding them accountable and supporting them through trials.
I am grateful for the leadership of GP, who daily strive to model what it means to seek truth and virtue in all that they do. I am thankful for our students, whom I see working each day to build one another up, to persevere in the work before them, and to discover who they are as they set out to discover that which is true. And I am deeply grateful for you, our parents, who have chosen this school as partners in the greatest of all works: the formation of souls, the next generation who will lead us in democracy and in humanity.
As we enter Thanksgiving week, please know how thankful I am for each of you and for the community we continue to build together. May this week bring rest, joy, and time with those you love.
With gratitude,
Mrs. Janssen
MIDDLE SCHOOL SPECIFIC
6TH GRADE FIELD TRIP
GP 6th Graders will be visiting the Desert Outdoor Center at Lake Pleasant on Thursday, December 4th. Students will participate in a variety of activities which include hands on opportunities to learn about the microbiology of aquatic life, practice basic orienteering skills using a map and compass, compete to build the most efficient wind turbine model, and more!
• Students should bring a labeled sack lunch and a labeled disposable water bottle.
• Students will wear the regular school uniform.
• General field trip permission slips were already signed as part of the enrollment paperwork.
SEMESTER 2 NOTE
As we approach the second semester, please note that student schedule changes are expected.
• All middle school students will begin a new Fine Arts class.
• In most cases, this will result in an updated class schedule.
• Although it is rare, there may be teacher changes in more than just Fine Arts classes due to the schedule changes.
Thank you for your understanding as we make these adjustments to provide a well-rounded experience for every student.
SCHOOLWIDE INFO ACADEMIC
SEMESTER FINAL EXAM REMINDERS
Final exams are a culmination of the material students have learned through the entirety of the first semester and account for 10% of a student’s final grade in each course. Please schedule appointments and vacations outside of the final exam testing window.
Students who miss a final exam due to illness with a doctor’s note will make up any missed final exams in January, on a given date. Unexcused absences or illness without a doctor’s note will result in the score of a zero for any missed final exam.

FAMILY GIVING
Did Someone Say Pup Cups and Pies to the Face?
Giving Tuesday, an International Day of Giving, is right around the corner on December 2nd, and this year our goal is to raise $15,000 in support of our school through Community Investment.
Your charitable gift to Community Investment is tax-deductible and directly supports teacher salaries, fine arts, and our operating budget. As a tuition-free public charter school, we receive $1,500 less per student per year from the state of Arizona than local public district schools. Community Investment helps bridge that gap and ensures we can continue offering an excellent education for our students.
And now for the fun…
If we reach our goal on December 2nd, our teachers and administration team have bravely agreed to take a pie to the face at our next assembly!
To kick off the season of giving, bring your furry friend through the drive line at pickup on December 1st, every pup will receive a pup cup! If you include your dog’s name in the comment section when making your Community Investment gift, they’ll also be added to our Pup Donor Wall.
If you have any questions about these events or about Community Investment, please reach out to Tammy Kempton, Family Giving Officer, at tkempton@glendaleprep.org.
Thank you for supporting our incredible teachers and school!
