Hello Parents,

We honored our Sophomores and Juniors this week at our annual Blazer Ceremony. This wonderful tradition culminates in conferring upon our Juniors the blazer, a sign of maturity and leadership. Seniors hand ties to the Sophomores and put the blazers on the Juniors. One recommendation this year was to have specific Seniors put the blazer on his or her Junior sibling, which made for a more intimate and memorable moment. While this may be a longer read, I so appreciated the faculty address brought by our beloved Mrs. Weaver. HERE is a link to her address.

Updated Tutoring Schedule

The tutoring schedule has been updated for quarter two. Please click HERE to see the latest version and use it to help your student plan a successful quarter.

Field Day November 5th

Field Day is on November 5. Students will participate in a variety of athletic and academic games for house points and should come dressed in appropriate attire: students should wear their house shirt, athletic shorts or pants, and running shoes with socks. Shorts should follow the same length guidelines as the uniform shorts, and pants should not be skin-tight or see-through.

Open Enrollment Info Night

Do you have friends, neighbors, or family interested in Glendale Prep or another Great Hearts Academy? Let them know about out Info Night coming on November 16. More details can be found HERE.

Uniform Policy Reminder

Beginning Monday, November 1st only pants and skirts may be worn to school. Shorts may not be worn again until after Spring Break. As a reminder, gentlemen may not wear ankle socks with pants. “Socks must be white or solid black, navy, or dark brown in color, and extend above the ankle and be free of visible brand logos, patterns, or decorations.” The last day to wear shorts will be Friday, October 29th.

Griffin Players

The Griffin Players return this fall with Noel Coward’s Blithe Spirit. A smash hit on the London and Broadway stages, this classic comedy follows a fussy, cantankerous novelist, re-married but haunted (literally) by the ghost of his late first wife. Packed with witty dialogue and zany characters, the play stars Lyndsie Bell, Samuel Boonzayer, and Nicole Kramer, and features hilarious performances by Grace Day, Sophie Howell, Alexsus Krueger, Marin Sanborn, and Zachary Tinlin. Performances are Friday, November 5th at 7:30pm and Saturday, November 6th at 2:00pm and 7:30pm. Tickets are $10 for students and $15 for adults, and will be available at the door and on the payment portal HERE.
