A Note from the Headmaster

Welcome back!

I hope you and your family had a blessed Christmas and New Year during this Winter Break. I hope students were able to relax, sleep in, and cherish their time with family.

Like many of you, I set some goals for 2022. Some goals are personal; others more professional, connected to my calling as an educator. I believe setting goals with intention can be live changing. So, I wanted to share with you a goal I have for us as parents. The goal is that we think more about building community. In order to achieve a goal, we must lay out action items, so please begin thinking about what you can do to help build our community. For many of you, it is continuing to do what you have done for years: greet teachers, students, and fellow parents when you are on campus, serve in our lunchroom, donate time and energy through our PSO, send encouraging emails to teachers, answer late night texts/calls from other parents who are trying to figure out the homework, drive safely and courteously during drop off and pickup, encourage your child to go to a teacher with questions or concerns, remind your child to think of others during the school day, exhort your child to understand that high standards of moral character and academic rigor will shape his or her soul to pursue good, and the list goes on.

You and your children make Glendale Prep a wonderful place to serve, and I am humbled to be part of this community. Never underestimate the little things that make this place home for me and so many others!

I look forward to 2022 together,

Mr. Navarrette
