A Note from the Headmaster
Dear Families,
It was so wonderful to see all of you at Curriculum Night. I very much hope you enjoyed your time in classes, being a student again, and gathering a sense of a day in the life of your child! This event makes for a long day and evening for my teachers, but the evening always ends with our GP cheer and singing of our school song in the faculty office. We have had a strong start of school, serving the largest number of families and students in school history! As I enter my tenth year, I am humbled to be part of such an amazing community and cannot share enough how much I cherish your trust and partnership.
As you may know, our Community Investment and Public School Tax Credit campaigns make it possible for our community to thrive in providing a wonderful academic experience for every student while also seeking to establish a foundation of moral virtue. I want to sincerely thank the families who have already chosen to partner with us by making a gift to Community Investment and Tax Credit this year. Along with Archway Glendale, we have set a goal to have 100% participation for Community Investment, no matter the amount your family is able to contribute. If you have not yet given, please consider giving a monthly gift of whatever works best for your family to Community Investment and by contributing your Public School Tax Credit to our academy. Your generosity leaves a lasting impact on our students.

Missing Assignment Academic Reporting for 6th-9th grade
In an effort to strengthen our partnership with parents, we are trialing a Friday communication that will alert you as parents of any missing, late, or incomplete work turned in by your student over the past two weeks. While students may no longer have the opportunity to make up the assignments noted in the report, we believe the report provides an opportunity to reset for the weeks remaining in the quarter. Some parents will receive a report in a Friday email if their child had a missing, late, or incomplete graded assignment during the reported timeframe; others will not receive any report if their child turned in all graded assignments. We are only sending reports for 6th-9th grade students, as we believe our older, more mature students are responsible to maneuver homework expectations and can communicate directly with parents about needed support or plans of action. If you have questions, please reach out to Mrs. Dausend or Mrs. Janssen.

Corporate Matching Gifts = Free Money for our School!
Do you work for UPS, American Express, Go Daddy, PepsiCo, Vanguard, CSAA, State Farm, or Charles Schwab? These are just a few of the businesses that match gifts made to Glendale Prep through Community Investment. Corporate Matching is an easy way to increase the impact of your tax-deductible donations! Why is Community Investment so important? Glendale Prep receives $1500 less per student per year from the state of Arizona than our local district schools receive to operate. Without these dollars, we would not be able to provide our students a Great Hearts education or provide individualized attention. Community Investment enables us to offer art, music, drama, and foreign language daily while supporting our excellent and dedicated faculty.
What is the first step? If you haven’t already done so, use this link Donate to Glendale Preparatory Community Investment to make a gift to Community Investment. After you’ve made your gift, use the Matching Gifts link Matching Gifts – Great Hearts Glendale Prep, Serving Grades 6-12 (greatheartsamerica.org) to search for your employer for steps to enroll!
Questions? Please contact Tammy Kempton, Family Giving and Community Engagement Officer, at tkempton@glendaleprep.org or 623-889-0822 ext. 1502. Thank you for your support!
