A Note from the Headmaster

Hello Parents,

We did it! We have completed another school year together. I am so thankful for your partnership and trust! I am also humbled by and thankful for the dedication of my teachers, staff, and administrators. Tonight is Commencement; the week was full of finals, various promotions, and our end of year award ceremony where we celebrated the accomplishments of all our students. The ceremony ended with a video that captured the 2023-2024 school year that we hope to provide in a summer communique.

Please keep an eye out for emails throughout the summer pertaining to specific changes or updates for the 2024-2025 school year. I wish you all a wonderful summer, and I will see you at Bookstore 2024!

Sincerely,
Mr. Navarrette
Headmaster

Open Position- A Joyous Farewell to Mrs. Kimpel

Our beloved Mrs. Kimpel will be leaving us next year. While we are so happy for the opportunities the future will bring her, we are certainly saying goodbye to a vital member of our community. Not only is Mrs. Kimpel the best office manager in our network, but she is also an invaluable member of my leadership team. She helps to carry out the Great Hearts mission and live out my particular vision for Glendale Prep to be a place where students (and parents) are known and loved. I take comfort in knowing how blessed we have been to have Mrs. Kimpel these past few years, and while she moves on, the Kimpels will certainly remain in our community as parents.

So, we are looking for someone to fill a very important and vital role at Glendale Prep. We believe someone within our community, such as a parent, is best suited because he or she has a personal knowledge of our community and will uphold what we care about most- the souls of our children through genuine partnership with our parents. I would love to hear from some of you if you have any interest. I know it can be daunting to take on something new or meet the standards set by Mrs. Kimpel, but I would like for anyone interested to see this as an opportunity to serve our community, receive personal onboarding and support from Mrs. Kimpel, and strive to continue our standard of excellence by upholding a truly caring front office who places parents and students as the priority. If you are interested in learning more about the position, please reach out to me directly at knavarrette@glendaleprep.org.
Great Hearts Summer School Options

We are pleased to announce that summer school for high school students will be offered at various Great Hearts campuses and also online. Please see THIS brochure for course offerings and other information. Space is limited. Please sign up through the parent payment portal for the desired location linked in the attachment and reach out to Mrs. Kratz with questions.

Community Investment- THANK YOU!

Thank you to all the families that generously gave to Community Investment this year and in years past. We are sincerely grateful for your gifts! Every dollar stays at GP and helps cover the gap between what we receive from public funding and the actual cost to provide our students with a Great Hearts classical liberal arts education. If you have not made a gift this year and would like to do so, there is still time! Every dollar makes a difference and is meaningful. Use this link to Donate to Glendale Preparatory Community Investment. Please reach out to Tammy Kempton, Family Giving Officer, at tkempton@glendaleprep.org with any questions. I hope you have a restful and enjoyable summer break!

College Counseling

  • Congratulations to the Class of 2024! We are so proud of your accomplishments and contributions to our school community over the past years. We wish you all the best on your next endeavors!
  • JUNIORS: Be on the look out for an email with a survey to register for College Application Bootcamp sessions during July 22-July 30. We are looking forward to assisting you with the application process. Please see the attached FLYER  for the schedule of events.

Athletics

Spiritline: GP will be rolling out a high school Spiritline team for next year. This team will be at many home events to help guide the fans in different cheers and to support our teams. For more information, please reach out via email to athletics@glendaleprep.org.

GOATS: We are still looking for more on-field support for our GOATS- students who assist the football team at practice and games.

Game Volunteers: We are always in need of parent volunteers to help run home games. Concession stand, entrance, and other volunteers help our events run smoothly. If interested, email gp_APO@glendalepreppo.org to join or learn more! You can also reach out to athletics@glendaleprep.org.

Fall Sports: All fall sports require documents that need to be submitted to participate. Please reach out to Mr. Roundy (nroundy@glendaleprep.org) for guidance and links to documents. The summer is a great time to get your physical done for the next school year! If you would like more general information, please send an email to athletics@glendaleprep.org.
