A Note from the Headmaster
Hello Parents, We are one week away from the culmination of another school year. I want to provide you with a brief outline of what is to come, especially since Thursday and Friday are a bit different from years past. I hope the outline below provides you with a brief summary of each day (students received a more detailed printout copy of the week): Monday- We will have a study day with no students on campus. Tuesday– We will have periods 1 and 2 final exams with a short break in between periods. Wednesday– We will have periods 3 and 4 final exams with a short break in between periods. Thursday– We will have period 5 final exam followed by cleaning classrooms and lockers. Students will receive their yearbooks one day earlier this year to enjoy campus-wide yearbook signing. You purchased a yearbook for your student when paying for consumables at the beginning of the year (unless you requested otherwise directly with Mrs. Kimpel). Students should plan to bring bags for all belongings and bring locker shelves home. Friday– We will have period 6 final exam followed by a time of yearbook signing, textbook returns (high school), and our end of year awards ceremony where we will bid farewell to our seniors. Students should make sure to have all textbooks ready (see below) and bring them to each relevant class during their final. We are very excited for our last week of school. Sincerely, Textbook Return- Finals Week We will be collecting textbooks after each final during finals week, May 21-24th. Please work with your child to be sure he or she has all textbooks, and they are in reasonable condition (erase any markings and tape any torn pages). Please help your student(s) be prepared to bring each textbook to that class’s final. Families are responsible for any missing or excessively damaged textbooks. Below are examples of books for each middle school grade; HERE is the link to all textbooks, so you can be aware of what books your child should be returning. Locker Cleanout- THURSDAY Does your student have paper, index cards, or even locker shelves he or she does not need? Instead of throwing them away, please consider donating them! To encourage a spirit of giving this year, donation bins will be placed near lockers, so students have the option of donating items in good condition they do not want to bring home. We will collect and sort them for students who have need next school year. Suggestions for donated supplies are: unopened packages of index cards or binder paper, unused spiral notebooks, index card storage boxes, packs of pencils or pens, books in good condition, locker shelves, and other locker décor in good condition. Donations will be greatly appreciated! Please discuss this option with your student or remind your student to bring these items home if you would like to save them for next year. Please contact Dr. Ustach at custach@glendaleprep.org with questions. Final Exam Week You received an email earlier in the year regarding a change to our final exam schedule this semester. As a reminder, below is the general plan for the last week of school. Please ensure your child is on campus for all of the four days of finals.
