A Note from the Headmaster

Greetings,

This week was packed. We had our instrumental concert and our Senior Dinner. The concert was wonderful, and our program continues to grow and expand! The Senior Dinner brings a time of looking at senior photo collages, sharing a meal with parents and teachers, and hearing speeches brought by faculty members, who share about how each senior has impacted our community, noting the talents, virtues, and memories of their time at Glendale Prep. We truly see the beauty of our teachers’ words come alive as they have spent years with these students, coming to know and love them. It is probably a favorite tradition of nearly every person in attendance. It was such a special night!

We are two weeks away from the end of a school year. I am excited to finish well.

Sincerely,
Mr. Navarrette
Headmaster

Textbook Return- Finals Week

We will be collecting textbooks after each final during finals week, May 21-24th. Please work with your child to be sure he or she has all textbooks, and they are in reasonable condition (erase any markings and tape any torn pages). Please help your student(s) be prepared to bring each textbook to that class’s final. Families are responsible for any missing or excessively damaged textbooks.

Final Exam Week

You received an email earlier in the year regarding a change to our final exam schedule this semester. As a reminder, below is the general plan for the last week of school. Please ensure your child is on campus for all of the four days of finals.

High School Trip to Spain 2025

Information Meeting on Thursday May 16th: please RSVP!

Glendale Prep is partnering with EF Tours to provide an opportunity for High School students to visit Spain in Summer 2025. We will visit Granada, Seville, Cordoba, Madrid and Barcelona, and experience many Spanish wonders.

When students travel, they expand their knowledge of the world around them, discover more about themselves, and grow more confident. These skills are critical for creating the global citizens of tomorrow, and we would love to have your student join us on this adventure.

Please register HERE to attend our information session on Thursday May 16th at 6:00 pm in the Library where we will share:

  • How this opportunity will benefit your student.
  • What we’ll see and do on our trip.
  • Everything that’s included in this experience.
  • How we’re keeping this safe and affordable.
  • How to enroll.

We look forward to seeing many of you on the 16th!

For any questions, please contact Madame Cognet-Pereira: ccognet-pereira@glendaleprep.org.

Great Hearts Day of Giving-Extended!

Thank you to everyone that has supported Community Investment this year! Even though Great Hearts Day of Giving is over, there is still time to help us reach our goal by June 30th. Please use this link Donate to Glendale Preparatory Community Investment to give a one-time or recurring monthly gift to Glendale Prep. Every dollar makes a difference! Please feel free to reach out to Tammy Kempton at tkempton@glendaleprep.org with questions.

Senior Thesis and Defense

Senior Thesis and Defense Panels are an integral part of the high school experience at Glendale Prep. Students have worked for almost a year on their Senior Thesis. All panels will consist of two main parts: 1) The Thesis Presentation- a brief presentation (of about 10 minutes) in which the student will highlight the essential ideas of the paper; and 2) The Thesis Panel Discussion- a panel of three faculty readers will be convened to conduct a discussion with the student about his or her Thesis (of about 45 minutes). Parents are invited to attend. Thesis panels will be at 3:30 (12:45 on Wednesdays) in the GP Library or at 3:45 in room 408.

The following students will have their panels next week:

Senior Student Date –  Time
Madelyn Elwood Monday  5/13 – 3:30 PM
Jerome Kallookaran Tuesday 5/14 – 3:30 PM
Landon Keith Wednesday 5/15 – 12:45 PM
Jake Ibrahim Thursday 5/16 – 3:30 PM
Braden Green Thursday 5/16 – 3:45 PM
