A Note from the Headmaster
Hello Parents, I wanted to share with you a final tax credit contest. If Glendale Prep families and friends can bring in 80 new tax credits before April 15th, we will name an additional R&R weekend in the month of May. We have made announcements to students, so you can anticipate your child coming and asking you about this. Tax credits are a revenue stream for our school to make up the gap between what it costs for a classical liberal arts education and the funding received from the state. We do need your help, along with Community Investment. Thank you to all of you who have been so generous with your time and money. Here are some helpful ideas regarding meeting our tax credit goal-

Volunteer information and a sign-up link will be sent Tuesday, April 9th at 8:00AM. We are limiting volunteers to one per family during the first round of sign-ups. Volunteer spots have traditionally filled quickly; if you are interested, please make special note of this date and time, so you can watch for the email. Anton Uniforms- Spring Sale Anton Uniforms will have a sale on all purchases made between April 15th and May 12th, 2024. This is done in two phases this year:
You can receive these discounts by shopping either online or by mentioning the code to the associates in-store. This is a great opportunity to stock up on school uniforms at current lower prices before they’re adjusted to reflect recent supplier price increases which begin on June 1st, 2024. Anton understands that buying uniforms in advance can be a challenge, especially since children grow at different rates. The goal is to always provide a comfortable and well-fitting uniform, so they happily offer exchanges for up to two weeks after the start of the 2024-2025 school year (see flyer for important details). Any orders placed outside of the sale dates fall under their typical 60 Day return/exchange policy. Solar Eclipse Monday Please partner with us about the solar eclipse on Monday by encouraging your children not to look directly at the sun. Students are regularly outside during passing periods and we want to ensure they understand how to keep themselves safe and prevent damage to their eyes. While we understand there are illness and appointments that arise, we appreciate your help in making sure your student is present during testing times as much as possible. We will have an adjusted schedule for the week of April 8th – April 12th. The testing/class schedule is included in the chart below. If a student leaves campus during a test, he or she will have to submit the unfinished test and will not be able to complete it. Testing will be administered by grade level and make up testing will be completed at the earliest time available upon a students’ return to school. Please ensure your student: (1) gets a good night’s sleep, (2) eats a nourishing breakfast, (3) arrives to school on time, and (4) has no appointments scheduled during his or her testing time slot. Language Testing Students will be taking part in the National Foreign Language Exams in the upcoming weeks during their regularly scheduled foreign language class. This is a very exciting opportunity for Glendale Prep students, as they have the chance to compete against other students across the country and overseas. Due to the standardized nature of the test, it will not be possible to reschedule the test if your student is absent, so it is important that your student is present on the day of their scheduled foreign language class. Please refer to the chart below for the dates of the various tests.
