A NOTE FROM THE HEADMASTER
Dear Glendale Prep Families,
This week, I have had the privilege of accompanying our senior class on their final GP “field trip” to our nation’s capital, Washington DC, which has been a wonderful and fitting culmination of their years of study here at Glendale Prep.
Our days have been full as we walked the memorial-lined paths of the National Mall, stood in the halls of the Smithsonian museums, and observed the work of our judiciary at the Supreme Court of the United States. We have encountered the founding documents at the National Archives Building, studied within the grandeur of the Library of Congress, toured the United States Capitol, and reflected with gratitude among the gravestones of Arlington National Cemetery– each bringing to life the principles our students have long studied in the classroom.
Beyond these formal visits, we have enjoyed time in Georgetown, navigated the city via the Washington Metro, and traveled along the Potomac River en route to Mount Vernon. Our evenings have been full as well including a performance of 1776 at Ford’s Theatre and a shared formal dinner together.
Tomorrow, we will visit the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum and make a final return to the monuments before heading back to Phoenix.
It has been a joy to witness our seniors engage with the history, institutions, and ideals of our republic. This trip stands as a fitting conclusion to their time at Glendale Prep; a true capstone to their formation.
For our current families of 6th-11th graders, I share this glimpse as both reflection and anticipation. The senior trip is a deeply meaningful tradition, one that brings to life the ideals of humanity, history, and virtues our students encounter within our curriculum year after year. It is a privilege to walk alongside them at this culminating moment, and to see their studies take on renewed depth and clarity in the very places where our nation’s story has unfolded. I hope you will look forward to the day when your own student stands at this threshold, prepared to engage with the world and to carry forward the habits of heart and mind cultivated during their time at Glendale Prep.
With a full heart,
Mrs. Janssen

Students who miss a final exam due to illness with a doctor’s note will make up any missed final exams the first week of summer break, on a given date. Unexcused absences or illness without a doctor’s note will result in the score of a zero for any missed final exam.
