A Note from the Headmaster
Hello Parents, You recently received an email to complete the annual family survey. Please do find time to complete this survey, as it is so helpful for me to reflect on another school year. For those of you who take time to write comments, please know that I read every comment and find them very insightful. I present the survey results to all of my faculty and staff in a Q4 meeting. We use the results to affirm what we are doing well but also to consider changes based on your feedback. Your trust and partnership are foundational to the strength of our community, so please share honestly and candidly. If you find that after completing the survey, you think it would be best to set up time to meet with me, please email me some days and times that work for you. You can access the survey by using the link HERE. The survey will remain open until Tuesday, March 5th. Sincerely, Current 6th-11th Grade Re-Enrollment Secure your student’s spot for the 2024-2025 school year beginning March 4th by completing the re-enrollment packet on the Enrollment Portal (you will receive an email when re-enrollment is live) and bringing in all the required items during one of our available slots HERE. Slots are broken down for families with just Archway students, just Prep students, and for families with both Archway and Prep students. Please sign up for only ONE time slot PER FAMILY! THIS PROCESS IS QUICK AND EASY! Simply print out the re-enrollment packet one-sided, and bring it to the GP gym lobby during your scheduled time slot. You will also need to bring in one Arizona Residency Document (we prefer a driver’s license or utility bill with your current address). The document you provide must list the physical address where the student resides and should match the address in the re-enrollment packet. NEW THIS YEAR: The document MUST also list the name of the person who signed the AZ Residency Form in the re-enrollment packet. Re-enrollment materials will not be accepted or marked complete if any of the required materials are missing. We look forward to seeing you at re-enrollment! State Mandated Standardized Testing Standardized testing begins on Monday, April 1st and will run through Friday, April 19th. While we understand there are illness and appointments that arise, we appreciate your help in making sure your student is present during testing times as much as possible. We will have an adjusted schedule for the week of April 8th – April 12th. The testing/class schedule is included in the chart below. If a student leaves campus during a test, he or she will have to submit the unfinished test and will not be able to complete it. Testing will be administered by grade level and make up testing will be completed at the earliest time available upon a students’ return to school. Please ensure your student: (1) gets a good night’s sleep, (2) eats a nourishing breakfast, (3) arrives to school on time, and (4) has no appointments scheduled during his or her testing time slot. Please see the charts below for details: Language Testing Students will be taking part in the National Foreign Language Exams in the upcoming weeks during their regularly scheduled foreign language class. This is a very exciting opportunity for Glendale Prep students, as they have the chance to compete against other students across the country and overseas. Due to the standardized nature of the test, it will not be possible to reschedule the test if your student is absent, so it is important that your student is present on the day of their scheduled foreign language class. Please refer to the chart below for the dates of the various tests. Please ensure your student: (1) gets a good night’s sleep, (2) eats a nourishing breakfast, (3) arrives to school on time, and (4) has no appointments scheduled during their testing time slot. Please see the chart below for details: Current 8th Grade: Rising 9th Grade Language Survey At 9:00AM on Tuesday, February 20th, you received an email regarding your rising 9th grader’s language choice for the 2024-2025 school year. It is important ALL current 8th grade families read this email and fill out the Rising 9th Grade Language Survey, regardless of their student’s intent to return to Glendale Prep next year. Please be aware that our language classes each have a limited number of seats, and all responses are time stamped. Your prompt reply will increase the chance that your child will receive his or her first choice of language, and will also help us in class planning for next year. Students who do not have a language selected by March 18th will be assigned to a 9th grade language class for 2024-2025 based on availability and will not be changed.
