A Note from the Headmaster
Hello Parents,
I hope your week has been productive and enjoyable. I wanted to share with you about something to expect on Monday. An essential part of our community is hearing feedback from you, the parents. Each year, our network sends out a family survey asking a variety of questions as well as leaving an opportunity for general comments. This data along with any narrative comments are vital to help us self-reflect as a school and make any necessary changes to improve. The parent survey will run for a two-week window between Monday, February 14th and Sunday, February 27th. I know that surveys seem time consuming and maybe even frustrating if we do not ask the right questions, but you should be able to complete this survey within 15 minutes on your phone. Your opinion matters greatly to me, so please do complete the survey and share candidly. If you find you would like to follow up with a phone call or meeting with me, I welcome it.
Thank you,
Mr. Navarrette
Headmaster
Dinner and the Arts
We are very excited that on March 5th we will have our first annual Dinner and the Arts parent event. Come in semi-professional attire to enjoy appetizers, mingle with other parents, and behold beauty. After sharing dinner together, we will enjoy a performance of Clue put on by Griffin Players. The night will wrap up with dessert and mingling with the cast. We hope you can join us for this community event.
Please purchase tickets HERE. Below is the tentative schedule for the night. THIS IS NOT A FUNDRAISER; the cost of each ticket covers food, admission to see the play, and other supplies. The cost is $25 a ticket. This event is exclusively for Glendale Prep parents.
Dinner and the Arts; March 5, 2022
5:00-5:45 Appetizers and Drinks; Studio art and music exhibition and demonstrations
5:45- 6:30 Italian Buffet Dinner
6:30-8:00 Clue put on by The Griffin Players; casted by GP students
8:00-8:30 Dessert and time with cast
February 14th
Please remember that, although we love holidays, we strive to keep our campus environment free of those distractions that would take away from focus on the true, good, and beautiful. We also encourage our students to develop strong and meaningful friendships in their time at Glendale Prep rather than focus on exclusivity with a single other. To that end, students are not to bring or pass out decorations, candy, or cards at school on Monday. We encourage them to celebrate the holiday at off-campus activities of your choice. Thank you!
Tax Credit
You can lower your State of Arizona tax bill up to $400 and support Glendale Prep’s athletic program, field trips, after school clubs, on-site performances, and character building events. Simply, contribute your Arizona Public School Tax Credit to Glendale Prep, and you will receive your contribution back as a dollar-for-dollar credit on your state taxes! It is easy and does not cost you a dime, but it makes all the difference for our students! Please give your 2021 Arizona Public School Tax Credit before April 15th2022 by clicking here. On behalf of all of our GP students, we are grateful for your support!
Robotics
This weekend both GP robotics teams attended in their final qualifier competition. Team 18421, Unscheduled Disassembly, composed of Adam Edmiston, Gabby Le, Alessandro Marcolini, Luciano Marcolini, Jake Senczakowicz-Gibo, Logan Ritter, Isaac Overson, and Logan O’Donnell, took second place overall and they qualified for States, happening in two weeks in Flagstaff. Team 18420, Metal Masters, composed of Lex Bodzin, Brennan Fahey, Belle Bodzin, Samuel Mahoney, Benjamin Ries-Clark, Teresa Joseph, and Isabella San Pablo, was pitted against Team 18421 in the finals and they took first place, a first for any GP robotics team. Please congratulate them the next time you see any of the members of the robotics teams.
If you have any questions about robotics or about the state tournament in Flagstaff, please talk to Mr. Roper.
