| A Note from the Headmaster
Hello Parents, Welcome back and Happy 2023! It was wonderful to see the students on campus, smiling, and enjoying time in class with their friends. I am not sure if you have made any resolutions, but I did want to share some thoughts I had over the break regarding time. I learned that a young man I know, who is married with children, was diagnosed with cancer. The situation does not look good, but his attitude has been so encouraging to me and to others when he shares about his situation. As I have been reflecting upon him, his life, what the future may bring, I recall some words from a well-known psalm, Psalm 90. It reads- “Our days may come to seventy years, or eighty, if our strength endures; yet the best of them are but trouble and sorrows, for they quickly pass, and we fly away…Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” The new year is a time to rejoice, but most certainly a time to reflect and consider what we need to cherish above all else. I hope you and your family have a wonderful 2023 and the year brings about the fruit of wisdom, joy, goodness, and love. Sincerely, 7th and 8th Grade Dance We are excited to announce the middle school dance will be 6:00-8:00 pm on January 20th. All 7th and 8th graders are invited to attend a much-anticipated dance party! Tickets are available on the portal HERE for $15 through January 13th and $20 thereafter through 5:00 pm the day of the event. Tickets are $25 CASH ONLY at the door and parents will need to sign a paper permission form in person before student entry to the dance for those who did not pay on the portal. Phones should be brought in a zip top baggie marked with the student’s name. Dress code for boys:

Any student out of dress code will be given additional clothing to ensure his or her outfit is in compliance. If this is not possible, parents will be called to bring other clothing or to take their student home. Please find helpful suggestions HERE to ensure this goes smoothly for your child. Dress Code Reminder Please check your daughter’s skirt length; some of our students have grown and the skirt is then too short. A skirt should not be shorter than two inches above the knee. An infraction will be issued to young ladies whose skirts are too short. Detentions are issued after three infractions. Thank you for your help with dress code compliance! New Nurse Email The nurses now have a new general email. Please contact them at NursingTeam@ArchwayGlendale.org. College Counseling UPCOMING EVENTS: Note the dates of network-wide College Counseling events during 2nd semester. More details will be forthcoming.
