Mr. Brown, our school counselor, will be leading a presentation and time for Q&A on Thursday, April 28th from 6:00pm-7:00pm in the Archway MPR. The topic of choice is Social Media Safety and Guidance, but certainly will cover kindness, which is connected to our parent survey and something of which a handful of parents have shared feedback. There is no need to RSVP. We think it best for this event and the first of this kind to make this a “parents only” event. The outline for the night will be as follows:
· Presentation on the popularity and permanence of social media
· Role and Responsibility of Parents

With the end of the year approaching, now is the time for us to show our appreciation and gratitude to all the hardworking teachers and staff at the GP. During this week, the PSO will provide daily treats for the staff, and this year’s theme is Carnival. At the end of the week the teachers will receive gift cards to enjoy at their favorite stores and restaurants. Please use THIS link to donate to this great program.
The PSO will use these funds to purchase gift cards on your behalf, or you can also purchase your own gift cards in denominations of $10 each card and hand them in to the office before Tuesday, May 3rd.
We are also looking for help:
- With decorations. If anyone has any great artists or crafters in the family we would love some signs or posters to put up in the teacher's lounge. We would like to keep with the Carnival theme, but ensure we are within our Great Hearts philosophy.
- With food set up/clean up. Each day we are looking for a couple of volunteers to arrive at school in the morning to set up that day's treat in the teacher's lounge.
Please email Debbie Ayer at PSOpresident@glendaleprep.org or by replying to this email.

Drama Double Header
End the school year by taking in a FREE show! The Grade 11 and 12 students will be presenting a double feature of titles on Saturday, May 21st:
- First up at 2:00 pm, our grade 11 students will be presenting the beloved Shakespearean comedy Twelfth Night...Or What You Will. This show is full of laughter, love, and a lot of silliness. Please join us before the show for "cocktail hour in Illyria," where you will be able to treat yourself to sweets and mocktails and meet the inhabitants of Illyria. Who knows, you may have a chance to chat with Duke Orsino or share a laugh with Sirs Andrew and Toby! *PLEASE NOTE: This production start time might be shifted to 3:00 pm. Please look for the official start time in next week's blast
- At 7:30, please join our seniors as they present Senior Night Live. This show is unlike anything you've seen on the GP stage! Join our heroine, Faith Dupree, as she navigates the seemingly impossible task of choosing a topic for senior thesis. SNL features 3 one-act plays along with 5 ORIGINAL scenes conceived by the class and written by Ms. Conrad. This cast of 10 will be presenting all kinds of characters from animals, to fictional characters and the authors who wrote them, and maybe even a teacher impersonation...or 6. Trust us; this show is a MUST SEE!
May 24, 2022 @ 1:10 pm - 2:10 pm
It is our pleasure and honor to invite you to the Eighth-Grade Promotion Ceremony. The event will be for parents only on Tuesday, May 24th from 1:10-2:10 p.m. This day is an early release day. Students should report immediately after school to the gym for lunch—we are providing pizza—a quick rehearsal, and to get seated prior to parents arriving. Parents will be admitted at 1:00 p.m. through the gym lobby doors. Parents are welcome to take pictures when a student receives a gift from Mr. Navarrette; we will not be providing photographs of this event. The student dress code for this event is the ordinary school uniform, so students do not need to come to school with anything extraordinary. Indeed, students are expected to leave all belongings, especially phones, in their lockers after school to be retrieved after the event concludes. Finally, parents and students are invited to stay after the event for fellowship and light refreshments before taking students home for the day.

We are excited to announce the return of the Great Hearts Gala for the 2022-23 school year! The 5thannual Gala will take place on September 24, 2022 at Chateau Luxe, and ‘Emerald City’ will be the theme for this year’s event. The Great Hearts Gala raises funds to benefit the Teacher Excellence Fund, which is distributed to our faculty as bonus compensation on an annual basis. Glendale Prep received $25,020 in December 2021 from this initiative. As we prepare for this wonderful evening, Glendale Prep is seeking two families (an individual and/or couple) to represent our academy on the 2022 Great Hearts Gala Committee. A full description of the position can be found here. If you are interested in serving on the committee, please contact Haley Kucharo at hkucharo@greatheartsaz.org. You may also reach out to Cathy Sparks at csparks@glendaleprep.org with additional questions.
Sponsorships start at $7,500 and are available now. If capacity allows, individual tickets will go on sale for $300/piece in early August. To guarantee your seats, we encourage you to either purchase a full table or take advantage of our new “Premiere Couple” early bird tickets for $1000/piece available now at www.greatheartsgala.org. If you are interested in sponsoring the 2022 Gala, or donating auction items, please contact Haley Kucharo, Great Hearts Development Officer, at hkucharo@greatheartsaz.org or 602-438-7045 ext. 490.
