A Note from Headmaster
Hello Parents, What a wonderful first two days! I shared with my faculty last week that it is like we are starting a new school. Our former distance learning students have returned to campus for the first time in over a year; for the students who were onsite last year, so much has changed as far as the schedule before school and during lunch/lyceum. A principle we operate by at Glendale Prep is to always be uber prepared and uber flexible. I have learned the value of this principle this week. However, what remains constant is the joy our students bring to our campus and the energy of engagement our teachers exercise each day. What I noticed this week was the spirit of service permeating our halls. I think of the many parents who worked the Bookstore event. Our student mentors gave up the last remaining hours of their summer to serve at New Student Orientation, welcoming and helping students new to Glendale Prep become acclimated to what we do. The evening before the first day of school, seniors posted teacher quotes in the faculty office and left baked goods as a first day treat. Parents, thank you for your patience as we worked through the first two days of pick-up. Our goal is to ensure safety and efficiency, in that order. By following the traffic procedures, I believe we can attain that goal together. Lastly, thank you for your trust and partnership as we begin a new school year together. I am humbled and blessed to be part of this community. Sincerely, Carpool Program Did you know we offer a Carpool Program? It is a free service provided by the PSO and is available to help Glendale parents find other families in their neighborhood to organize a carpool. Sign Up HERE [1]. Lunch Ordering Please see the most recent Weekly PSO Blast HERE [2] for lunch ordering and other information from the PSO. Student Preparation Please be aware that we will no longer be delivering notes to student lockers, except in case of emergency. Students know to check the bookshelf in the front office if they have forgotten something. We encourage students to grow in patience, discipline, and responsibility by being prepared with all school items, including lunches, each day. Be assured, snacks are available in the front office if there is one day your student forgets lunch. Athletics Fall Sports are HERE! See below for ways to get involved!
