A Note From the Headmaster

Greetings Parents,

It was so wonderful to see many of you at Curriculum Night. I hope your choice to entrust your son or daughter to GP was reinforced and strengthened as you sat in each class.I am using this blast to highlight a special addition to our school community- home football games. I had the pleasure last Friday night and will do so later this evening, to experience this event first hand. We likely had 500 fans at our last game, and I hope for even more tonight, so definitely plan to bring your lawn chair and be ready to cheer under the lights. It has been a blessing to see fruit from the labor and generosity of so many individuals. Mr. Garrison puts in an eighteen-hour day for each game; many teachers give of their time to “work” the night; our Athletic Parent Organization is utilized to find parents to help with field set up, concessions, and clean up; finally, our coaches and players compete for us, our school, and community. I experienced the first game, not as a Headmaster but as a parent- I can picture vividly as I write this:

  • My oldest running off to be with his classmates
  • My two other sons getting snacks and of course, wanting more
  • My daughter dancing to the music and not listening when I tell her to get off the field as she tests boundaries by creeping slightly towards the endzone
  • My wife and I celebrating during and after various plays

These are memories and moments of joy that we shared together, as a community. I am grateful for so many who served to make this happen and provide an opportunity for my family to form this memory; I will cherish it always.

Sincerely,
Mr. Navarrette
Headmaster
