A Note from the Headmaster

Hello Parents,

We had our Beginning Year Assembly on Thursday. It was so wonderful given we could be together as an entire student body for the first time in nearly two years. Senior Adam Edmiston welcomed our students, Mr. Maratea brought the faculty address, and we sang the school song together. I shared with students an attitudinal goal I have set for our faculty and staff- Seek excellence, not excuses. My hope is that we will establish and model this call for excellence on our campus to which students will see and live out themselves. Here are some words I shared with the students:

Excellence is a way of life. It is a matter of your heart, mind, soul, and strength AND may not be seen by others AND does not always garner the praise of man.

My hope for myself, your teachers, and you is that you will consider your time here at Glendale Prep and set your eyes on excellence. Seek it every day for yourselves but also with and for others. One seeking excellence alone and for himself seems to fall short. Seeking excellence in a community for the sake of yourself as part of a whole seems to be most meaningful and lasting.

Have a great weekend,

Mr. Navarrette
Headmaster

Study Skills Workshop

Glendale Prep’s study skills workshop will be held on Saturday, August 21 from 8:15 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the courtyard classrooms. This workshop is highly recommended for 6th graders and new students, but all GP students are welcome to join. Students must wear their school uniform.

Athletics Eligibility

GP Athletics is continuously striving for excellence in all we do. As a student-athlete, it is important that you feel both supported and encouraged as a student first. Success in the classroom is not easily achieved: it requires effort and discipline on all levels. This year, GP Athletics will introduce a new grade and eligibility process. Please click the link below and save a copy to easily access this information for the remainder of the season. Mr. Garrison and the coaching staff will inform families of all eligibility decisions and disciplines.
