A Note From Headmaster

Hello Parents,

“Coffee with the Headmaster” was something I very much enjoyed pre-Covid. It was an opportunity for parents to come and spend time with myself, members of administration, and fellow parents. The event began with a brief conversation of a topic that was on my mind, followed by classroom visits, and ending with parents sharing thoughts and observations from popping into various classes. Last year we spoke about contentment. It can be so difficult to help our children work through the lack of contentment; so often we can see the source of our discontentment as something external when it could be something internal; it may be merely a matter of changing our perspective or seeking to find the good in every circumstance that helps us break through to find joy and hope. I do not think the timing is right to resurrect “Coffee with the Headmaster,” but I do invite you to reach out to me to chat and even visit the campus, not as a group but individually. The topic on my mind, which will also be the topic for the next year, is “how students can feel or not feel part of a community.” What can we as parents and a school do to help guide them to become part of a community and welcome others into their community? I hope to glean wisdom from many of you as you share your thoughts on this topic.

Sincerely,

Mr. Navarrette
Headmaster
