A Note From Headmaster
Hello Parents, Today was an early release day for the students, and a faculty seminar day for teachers and staff. We shared a meal provided by the PSO and spent ninety minutes discussing My Name is Asher Lev. On Wednesday, when I was half-way through the assigned reading, I was discussing the story with Ms. Wegener. What became clear was her use of describing the work as “real”. My Name is Asher Lev tells the coming-of-age story of a young Jewish boy, who sees the world as it is but also as he imagines it to be. We see so much suffering in this story; I described it as “heavy”, but I do believe it is “real”. Our time in faculty seminar is life-giving; it is living out our calling as life-long learners. It is part of our culture and what makes our school truly wonderful. Again, thank you for partnering with us to provide a worthwhile experience for our students but also for our teachers. Sincerely, Mr. Navarrette FLASH SALE!
