Hello Parents, We honored our Sophomores and Juniors this week at our annual Blazer Ceremony. This wonderful tradition culminates in conferring upon our Juniors the blazer, a sign of maturity and leadership. Seniors hand ties to the Sophomores and put the blazers on the Juniors. One recommendation this year was to have specific Seniors put the blazer on his or her Junior sibling, which made for a more intimate and memorable moment. While this may be a longer read, I so appreciated the faculty address brought by our beloved Mrs. Weaver. HERE [1]is a link to her address. Sincerely, Updated Tutoring Schedule The tutoring schedule has been updated for quarter two. Please click HERE [2] to see the latest version and use it to help your student plan a successful quarter. Field Day November 5th Field Day is on November 5. Students will participate in a variety of athletic and academic games for house points and should come dressed in appropriate attire: students should wear their house shirt, athletic shorts or pants, and running shoes with socks. Shorts should follow the same length guidelines as the uniform shorts, and pants should not be skin-tight or see-through. Opt-In Text Communications Glendale Prep would like to keep you up-to-date and informed. If you would like to receive occasional text updates text “yes” to 67587. If you change your mind in the future, you can simply reply “stop” to cancel future text updates. Thank you for your partnership. Open Enrollment Info Night Do you have friends, neighbors, or family interested in Glendale Prep or another Great Hearts Academy? Let them know about out Info Night coming on November 16. More details can be found HERE [3]. Uniform Policy Reminder Beginning Monday, November 1st only pants and skirts may be worn to school. Shorts may not be worn again until after Spring Break. As a reminder, gentlemen may not wear ankle socks with pants. “Socks must be white or solid black, navy, or dark brown in color, and extend above the ankle and be free of visible brand logos, patterns, or decorations.” The last day to wear shorts will be Friday, October 29th. Performances are Friday, November 5th at 7:30pm and Saturday, November 6th at 2:00pm and 7:30pm.
